The Cali Clear Dual Chamber DUO, Explained

The Cali Clear DUO holds two flavours in two genuinely separate tanks, with a slider on the body to choose which one you are drawing from. It exists to solve an ordinary problem: most people want something bright during the day and something heavier at night, and carrying two devices to manage that is inconvenient.

What "dual chamber" actually means here

The chambers are isolated. Nothing crosses between them, so the second flavour tastes the same on the last pull as it did on the first.

That is worth stating plainly, because plenty of devices marketed as dual simply put two oils in one tank. In those, the stronger flavour contaminates the weaker one within a day and what you end up with is a muddled single flavour. Isolation is the whole engineering point of the format.

Using the slider

Move it fully to one side before you draw. Halfway does not blend the two chambers, it just breaks the seal and gives you a weak, disappointing pull.

This is comfortably the most common mistake people make with a DUO, and it is almost always the explanation when somebody reports theirs is not hitting properly. Before assuming a fault, check the slider is fully across.

How the two grams are split

Two grams total means roughly a gram per chamber. Neither side lasts as long as a dedicated 2g single-flavour device would, which is the trade for having both options in one body. Both chambers run from one battery, so there is only one thing to charge.

Using one side more than the other is completely normal. The chambers are independent and one running dry first is not a fault.

Pairings are fixed at manufacture rather than built to order, so the decision is which combination suits how you actually use a device.

A practical tip on switching

Give your palate a moment when you change chambers, particularly on the high-contrast pairings. Going straight from a rich flavour to a sharp one means the first is still coating your tongue and the second reads as thinner than it is. Half a minute is enough.

Care

A DUO tends to get used more heavily than a single device, simply because there is always a reason to pick it up. Top the battery up before it dies completely rather than running it flat every time, and store it upright, since there is more oil in the body and more opportunity for condensation to settle somewhere unhelpful.
